Merchant Acquisition & Reactivation Manager

Boost Connect is the merchant acquiring arm of the Boost Holding fintech group, providing comprehensive merchant payment solutions including eWallet acceptance, payment gateways, POS systems, soundbox solutions, and more. We empower merchants with seamless, secure, and scalable payment technologies that drive business growth.

This role is responsible for driving new merchant acquisition through direct and indirect channels, as well as designing and executing strategies to reactivate inactive or dormant merchants. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales, partnerships, or growth operations background and a deep understanding of the SME and retail merchant landscape in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

Merchant Acquisition

  • Identify, onboard, and manage high-performing merchant acquisition partners (e.g. agencies, aggregators, independent sales agents).
  • Execute growth campaigns and acquisition strategies targeted at high-potential merchant segments.
  • Work with internal product and marketing teams to ensure proper sales enablement, tools, and materials are in place.
  • Analyze acquisition data to optimize partner/channel performance.

Merchant Reactivation

  • Develop data-driven reactivation programs to engage and re-onboard inactive merchants.
  • Work with CRM, product, and analytics teams to craft targeted reactivation journeys via in-app, telemarketing, or field engagement.
  • Establish playbooks for reactivation outreach, incentive schemes, and solution repositioning.

Channel & Ecosystem Partnerships

  • Support the Head of Growth in identifying, onboarding, and nurturing strategic ecosystem partnerships that facilitate scalable merchant onboarding or solution adoption.
  • Assist in the integration or rollout of payment solutions through third-party platforms or service providers.

Operational Management

  • Track KPIs related to acquisition and reactivation goals; provide regular reporting and insights to leadership.
  • Oversee and improve field deployment operations, partner training, and merchant onboarding quality.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Merchant Acquisition Volume: Number of new merchants acquired per month (direct/indirect).
  • Activation Rate: % of newly acquired merchants actively transacting within the first 30 days.
  • Merchant Reactivation Rate: % of dormant merchants reactivated and transacting.
  • Channel Performance: Productivity of acquisition partners (e.g. conversion rates, cost per merchant).
  • Program Execution: Timely rollout of acquisition/reactivation campaigns and partner programs.
  • Partnership Impact: Contribution of ecosystem/channel partners to merchant base expansion

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, growth, partnerships, or business development, ideally in fintech, payments, F&B, or retail ecosystems.
  • Proven track record in merchant or SME acquisition programs, either directly or through third-party/agency networks.
  • Experience in managing field sales teams, telemarketing units, or channel partners is a strong plus.
  • Data-savvy and comfortable working with dashboards, sales tools, and CRM systems.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skill
